Marquita Garrett, MS, LPC, ACS
Ms. Garrett is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Ohio and Virginia. She received her Bachelors in Psychology from Albertus Magnus College, Masters in Clinical and Community Counseling from Wright State University, and she is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Walden University, in the Counselor Education Supervision program. Ms. Garrett has over 15 years of mental health experience that includes advocating for mental health, group facilitation, individual therapy, play therapy and Supervision. She has presented in many workshops and trainings.
She has more than seven years’ experience teaching special education from intellectually challenges to Gifted individuals. She is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, American Counseling Association, Association for Play Therapy, Virginia Counseling Association and volunteers for the American Red Cross, service to Armed Forces. She is a NBCC 2020 Minority Fellow. She carries an Instructor certification for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention®.
Ms. Garrett’s research concentrates on children and adolescents, human sexuality, military families, learning disabilities, emotional intelligence, and relationships. She currently has a private counseling and clinical supervision practice in Virginia.
