Marquita Garrett, MS, LPC, NCC, ACS, RPT-S
Ms. Garrett is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Ohio and Virginia. She received her bachelor’s in Psychology from Albertus Magnus College, Masters in Clinical and Community Counseling from Wright State University, and she is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Walden University, in the Counselor Education Supervision program. Ms. Garrett is an adjunct professor since 2021 with Walden University. She has over 15 years of mental health experience that including advocating for mental health, group facilitation, individual therapy, and play therapy. Ms. Garrett has over nine years as a Supervisor and is certified as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) as well as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S). She is a presenter and has contributed to training, workshops, and conferences.
She has more than seven years of experience teaching special education to intellectually challenged Gifted individuals. She is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, American Counseling Association, Association for Play Therapy, Virginia Counseling Association, and volunteers for the American Red Cross, Service to Armed Forces. She is an NBCC 2020 Minority Fellow. She carries an ASAM ® certification.
Ms. Garrett’s research concentrates on children and adolescents, human sexuality, military families, learning disabilities, emotional intelligence, and relationships. She currently has a private counseling and clinical supervision practice in Virginia.
